Fall festival ideas for a Parker yard or church lot

Fall festival season in Douglas County runs from the first cool weekend in September through Halloween, and most of what people plan for it, a hay bale photo spot, a chili cookoff, a costume parade, doesn’t need much from us. The one piece that does is the thing kids actually remember: something to jump on between the face painting line and the cake walk.

Dry works fine, and here’s when it has to

Two of our three castles, Classic Castle and Castle with Slide, run dry only, which makes them the obvious pick for a fall event anyway. Castle with Double Water Slide runs wet or dry, but below 50°F it goes up dry too. Once the mornings turn cold in October, plan on dry regardless of which one you book, and nothing about the party has to change for it. Church and school lots ask questions a backyard doesn’t

If you’re organizing for a church or a school, someone on the committee is probably going to ask for proof of insurance before they’ll let a vendor set up on the property. We carry liability cover of $25,000 per person, $50,000 per accident and $100,000 aggregate, and we keep the certificate on the phone and can show it whenever it’s asked for, including at the gate. Worth requesting ahead of the event rather than the morning of, since the person who needs to see it isn’t always the person who books us.

Anchoring is the same everywhere we go: four to six sandbags per castle, set before anyone climbs on, whether that’s your lawn, a gravel parking lot, or the asphalt behind a school gym. We don’t stake into the ground, so the surface underneath matters less than people expect. More on that in what your yard needs before we bring the castle.

A piñata fits the theme without much effort

We sell five piñata designs outright, not as a rental, and a fall festival is one of the easier places to work one in: string it up between events instead of building it into the schedule, and let kids take a swing while they wait for the next thing. See the designs and ask about pricing when you book. It can be added to a castle booking or bought on its own if the castle isn’t in the budget this year.

Booking early matters more in the fall

September and October are the two months homecoming, harvest festivals and trunk-or-treats all compete for the same Saturday afternoons, so the earlier you lock in a date the more likely we can still bring the castle you actually want. Day rates for all three run $100 to $300, and we deliver at no charge to Parker, Denver, Aurora, Castle Rock, Littleton and Centennial. Check the rest of our delivery area if you’re outside those six.
