What your yard needs before we bring the castle

Most of the questions we get before a booking aren’t about the castles themselves. They’re about the yard: will it fit, will it sit level, does the surface matter. Some of that has a real answer and some of it is a worry that doesn’t need to be one.

Concrete and asphalt are fine

Some rental companies anchor by staking into the ground, which is part of why “can you put a bounce house on concrete” is such a common question. We don’t stake. Every castle we bring goes down with four to six sandbags, set before anyone climbs on, and sandbags hold just as well on a driveway, a patio or a parking lot as they do on grass. What we actually need is a flat surface, not a soft one.

A slope is the real problem, not the material under it. A castle that’s noticeably higher on one side than the other doesn’t sit right and doesn’t anchor evenly, so if your yard has a grade to it, tell us when you book and we’ll figure out the flattest spot together.

How much room each one takes

Footprint matters more than most people expect walking their yard for the first time. Classic Castle is 13 by 13 feet and 14 feet tall. Castle with Slide needs more room in both directions: 15 by 16 feet, and it stands 17 feet tall. Castle with Double Water Slide is 16 by 15 feet but only 11 feet tall, which is worth knowing if the spot you have in mind sits under branches or a power line. Measure the space with a little extra on every side. The footprint is the castle itself, not the clearance a blower and an anchor point need around it.

Power and water, if you’re running it wet

Every castle runs off a blower that needs continuous power, so we’ll ask what’s near the setup spot when we confirm your date. If you’re booking Castle with Double Water Slide wet, the only other thing we need from you is a garden hose that reaches where the castle goes. Nothing else. Below 50°F it goes up dry regardless, and nothing runs in rain, water slide included, because the blower motor can’t get wet.
