Parker, CO parks for a bounce house party

Town of Parker parks allow a rented bounce house with the Town's consent. Which shelters you can book, the fees, insurance, stakes and power.

Yes, you can have a bounce house at a Town of Parker park, as long as it comes from a rental company and the Town signs off on it. Personal bounce houses aren’t allowed. Book the shelter through Parker Parks and Recreation first, then the castle, and give yourself two weeks rather than three days.

The Town keeps its rules in three places: a one-page sheet on inflatables, the park rentals page, and the rental terms and conditions. Everything below comes from those three and links back to them, because the Town can change a fee without telling us.

Can you have a bounce house at a Parker park?

Yes, if it comes from a rental company and the Town consents to it. The Town’s rules for inflatables say personal bounce houses are not permitted, and that commercially rented ones may be allowed with the express consent of the Town.

The same sheet sends any inflatable of 400 square feet or more to the building department for an inspection. None of ours gets near that. Classic Castle is 13 by 13 feet, which is 169 square feet, and Castle with Slide and Castle with Double Water Slide each cover 240.

Which Parker parks have shelters you can rent?

The Town rents ten shelters at eight parks, plus the gazebo in O’Brien Park. These are the general public rates from the park and field rentals page, per hour:

  • $17: Auburn Hills Park, Bar CCC Park, McCabe Meadows, Railbender Skate and Tennis Park, Salisbury Park (east and west shelters), and the Stroh Ranch soccer fields (east and west shelters).
  • $25: Tallman Meadow Park, Trails at Crowfoot Community Park, and the O’Brien Park gazebo.

Nonprofits pay a little less and for-profit groups more, and the page lists both. O’Brien Park and Discovery Park downtown have a two hour minimum, and O’Brien can’t be rented as a whole park between Memorial Day and Labor Day. The page doesn’t give a capacity for each shelter, so if your guest list is long, ask the rentals office which one fits before you pick.

How do you reserve a park shelter in Parker?

Apply online through Parker Parks and Recreation at least 72 hours ahead. The application link is on the rentals page, and the park rentals office answers at ParkRentals@parkerco.gov or 303.805.6324.

The 72 hours is the minimum for the shelter alone. The Town’s rental terms and conditions ask for two weeks’ notice when you’re bringing in equipment from an outside vendor, so plan on two weeks when a castle is part of the party. When you apply, tell the Town a rented inflatable is coming and ask for its consent in writing.

Do you need insurance for a bounce house at a Parker park?

The vendor does. The inflatables sheet requires general liability insurance that lists the Town of Parker as an “Additional Insured” for any event with a third-party vendor, and it names a company providing inflatables as the example.

We carry liability cover of $25,000 per person, $50,000 per accident and $100,000 aggregate. Tell us when you book that the Town wants to be named on the certificate, and we’ll confirm we can supply it before you pay for the shelter. The Town’s rental agreement sets the cover it expects, so check its numbers against ours at the same time. More on how we handle safety and insurance.

Do you need stakes to hold a bounce house down in a Parker park?

No. The rental terms say tents and inflatables must be held down with weights unless the Town approves staking in writing, because stakes can damage the irrigation system, and the Town adds a fee for locating underground lines before anyone stakes. We anchor every castle with four to six sandbags, so there’s no staking to approve and nothing goes into the grass.

Is there power at Parker park shelters?

At some of them. The rentals page says some shelters have electric outlets but electricity is not guaranteed, and it suggests a generator if you need power for certain. A larger generator can mean signing the Town’s generator checklist when you reserve.

Every castle runs off a blower that needs continuous power. Ask the rentals office what your shelter has before you book it, then tell us, and we’ll say plainly whether it works. A shelter roof doesn’t change the weather rules either: we don’t set up in rain or in wind over 15 mph.

What about Challenger Regional Park?

Challenger is a Douglas County park, not a Town of Parker one, so the Town’s inflatables sheet doesn’t cover it. The county’s Challenger page lists seven picnic shelters and asks groups of 15 or more to reserve, and its reservations page puts a shelter at $75 a day. The county doesn’t publish a rule on inflatables either way, so call Douglas County Parks and Recreation at 720-733-6990 and ask before you book the shelter or us.

Booking the castle

Parker is where we’re based, and delivery anywhere in town costs nothing extra. Bounce houses in Parker has all three castles side by side, and the day rates run $100 to $300, delivered, set up and collected. Pick by weight limit rather than looks: Classic Castle holds 800 pounds at once, and the two larger castles hold 1,000. The castle specs have the heights too, which matters if the spot you like is under a tree.

Once the Town has confirmed your shelter, send us the date and the park. If it’s a neighborhood or office event rather than a birthday, block party planning and company picnics cover the parts that change. Planning on the other side of the county? Highlands Ranch parks run on different rules.
